Step 1: Check that you have a strong internet connection

Whichever you’re using, either Wi-Fi or mobile data connection, ensure you have a strong internet connection. It’s preferable if you have access to a Wi-Fi network. But if you don’t have Wi-Fi, make sure you have a reliable mobile data connection. Then retry your download.

  • Click See all apps (this will give you the total number of app you have e.g “See all 69 app”).
  • Scroll down and tap Google Play Store.
  • Tap Storage.
  • Clear Cache, Clear Storage or Clear data.
  • Close and re-open the Play Store & try your download again.

If your device is low on space, it can stop apps from downloading, installing, and updating. Therefore, your device may be low on space if:

  • You get a notification about storage space.
  • There’s less than 1 GB available on your device.
  • To get help with storage space on Android, go to Free up space.

Yes, if your device runs Android 2.2 or below, Google Play may not work properly. To resolve this issue, contact your device manufacturer for help. Or try running an update following the steps below:

  • On your Android phone or tablet, go to Settings.

  • Tap Manage apps & device and then Manage.
  • Tap the name of the app you want to delete and then Uninstall.
  • To reinstall it, tap Install or Enable.
